Elvis is in the building!

We were tapping our Blue Suede Shoes to Elvis’ classic tunes, when our residents, friends and families got together for one of our special events.

We arrived together to “jet off” on a very special outing.
When residents from all five of our homes arrive at The Farmers’ Club in Gloucester, they were be greeted by a ‘pilot.’
Along with their friends they ‘checked in’ for their afternoon flight. Then it was a speedy boarding across the Atlantic to their final destination – an afternoon with Elvis.

Here at Cedar Trust we know how important it is that our residents continue to enjoy a social life.

Supporting them to get out and about as much as they can is a vital part of our activities. That change of scene, and opportunity to share an experience with friends and family can be a real boost.

We can’t really fly them to Memphis, Tennessee, but we can enjoy a little Jailhouse Rock.

Elvis was brilliant, we had dancing, singing, hands in the air and emotions galore, but for one resident in particular from our Redlands Acre Care Home, this brought back more memories than most, as she’d actually met the REAL Elvis all those many years ago! We did ask how he compared and the response was “He was very good, but needed more chest hair!” – This did make us smile.

If you’d like to know more about the care and activities we offer here at Cedar Trust, please don’t hesitate to give us a call or a message where we’d be happy to help.
